Its on again, first OWL inside the new year.

Despite most people out celebrating elsewhere, we had a nice enough turnout for the NYE event, hope to see all the regulars at this event !!

he will have all of the files on hand already, hopefully including configs from our previous server.

Not saying its a hunk of junk or anything, but it really is esentially useless if all its going to be doing is DHCP.

Also, if its ok with you, id like to take a crack at a proper setup of Apache / PHP 5 and MySQL.. ive been practicing and should be able to knock it out, and with any bit of luck ill have the pages required for the intranet system on me..
and if we can manage it, some sort of MySQL stats logging with a PHP page to view them.. hopefully something that can hold stats for each player over many LAN cycles.

we have rather high expectations for the future of the events, as can be seen from this mere list of things that we are striving to get done.. unfortuneately we cant obtain our own dedicated server hardware until we have the money for it , and we wont have that for at least 2 more fully booked LAN events.

after / during which those lucky door prizes should start appearing.

im making them mildly generic, with perhaps just a banner and URL for each of the LANs that they will oficially serve, but you never know how popular a server setup such as what we can do on that thing may be at other lans..

such as making an item from star wars / stargate from playdough as best as you can.. and take a photo to be submitted, then we can put it to a vote on the site.

LANDING OR SOMETHING

im sure we will grant..

figured we would get in early, as at the first advertisement point, people usually start murmuring about stuff.. so its a great time to collect info about what people expect from the OWLs

and i did ignore chris's idea.. making a stargate out of bread is to easy.. making it stand for 30 seconds if even easier.

the youth group does the model thing with play dough, i never got to attend, but MiZU did, said it was great fun, having to build as many different components of a maccas meal as you could in 40 seconds or something stupid like that.

I think the idea for that one was to make a macca's meal, and the results varied.
Some ppl tried to make a 2D image with the stuff, but most made 3D models.
I made a cheeseburger I had all the layers made seperatly then stacked.

Another group made a box of fries amongst theirs, and they actually had individual fries stacked inside, think I can get the photos of it all.

Yeah jabs, there was meant to be a LAN ding organised.. that was for Feb, perhaps grant could email gav when he gets a spare minute.
