I always recommend taking at least a 5metre one, if not a 10metre. Not sure how onewaylan have their setup, but some lans its hard to place the switch so its central. e.g. within 2metres.

a 2m would probably cut it at an OWL, but like Grant said, a 5m should be the minimum - especially if you start getting around the different LANs.
I've found my 5m was only just long enough at several larger LANs.

As for availability, may be a mute point - my northbridge fan died Sat night in the middle of a game and cooked the chip
The rig has been resurrected, but may not have the video grunt in time to at least install at the lan
