What'd you think of the lan just gone?

I thought it was alright, might need to look at another game other than CS that is decent that runs on shitty machines.....

Yeah, was great... ill nab that SS and post it somewhere later, a score to truly be proud of Very Happy (and if anyone has any DEM files from the games, send them my way. compress them, updload them to rapidshare.de, or megaupload.com and send the links my way.)

the source games with humans vs bots are pretty fun for half our or so.

but i was thinking of Quake 3... or Unreal Tournament GOTY (I'd prefer Q3)

there is a LAN held at KCS on the odd occasion, mainly primary students to my knowledge.. as such, all n00bs.
but its a low spec lan, so our games list is like this:

CS 1.6
Age Of Empires 2
Unreal Tournament GOTY

ive always wanted to throw some Q3 into the mix... and i happen to have the game on hand at most lans.. if i had it on me saturday, we would have been set.

i wouldnt mind a race based game... or something that is co-op against a computer.

also, if people organise early enough, someone may be able to offer a spare machine... providing they are going to be responsible for there own rig.

Yer Quake 3 would be good, I remember playing an add-on/mod called "rocket arena" that was pretty fun in the days.

And its a game I actually own =)

Serious Sam for co-op prehaps? An older version of it not the latest as i doubt it will play on most computers.

Racing games.....I really haven't played many racing games except for NFS2 but i think thats only single player.

Anyways, if we get a bit of a list here we might beable get organised before the next lan.

well, NFSU series is MP... but not for low end hardware at all.

never heard of rocket arena, but Quake World was excellent.

i have Arean and Team arena. i prefer team arena... but a deathmatch is always good to.

its an acer.. nuff said.

but as far as spec goes, the worst system there being used for games, was lukes. it had a gf2 in it, its now running a radeon 9200 SE.

Anyways, the list as i see it so far:

UT GOTY
Quake 3 Areana / team arena*
cs 1.6*
age 2*
castle woflenstein? (return to?)
Command and Conquer - ( tiberian sun, Renegade* )
Aliens VS Predator 2
Medal of Honour - not sure if this has MP, but i do own the game*
Red Faction
Half Life - Original + mods ( Day of Defeat, ricochet, Natural Selection )*

those are the games that should run on a GeForce 2 minimum... and the nice thing about them, is there is some entertainment to be had in all.

anything with a * on it, i already have.

ps: up near that image, it says the location is rosny college, this is not so, its actually rosny state library

Not crying, leeching and toying with the CS:S Dedicated Server. That's why I take the lappy along to LANs.

I can have it with CS:S, CS 1.6 and Natural Selection dedicated servers.
