Banks.....Whatever floats your boat really.
Hobart has: ANZ, Westpac, Commonwealth, National, Bendigo/Bank Of Adelaide, SunCorp with actual branches.
There are also a number of credit unions with branches about the outer suburbs/satellite commerce areas.
Of the majors, ANZ is supposed to be pretty good.

Thanks a lot. I'll prefer ANZ.

My daughter has DOB as 20th June 1993 and is in 9th Standard (WITH SUBJECTS AS ENGLISH, BIOLOGY, PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY, HISTORY, MATHS, SOCIAL STUDIES AND LOCAL LANGUAGES) here in India and my son DOB is 28th June 1996 and is in 6th standard in India. How will I have to proceed for getting them admitted in a school. I am also confused as some people are suggesting public and some private school. Is there a difference? If yes how much?

Ooh, Public Vs Private - feel free to chime in too guys, more is probably better for this one
From my experiences, a good public school in Tassie will give your child the same education as a private school.
The private schools should be about the same level, though will require a commute to get to.
I'm not sure of exactly what is in your area, especially if you may not be living in New Norfolk itself.
If a commute is OK I'd suggest going for a public school for this year as a trial, if things don't work out you have time to enrol them privately for a whole year rather than the last term and bit.
Age wise, you would be looking at Grade 8 (14Yrs) for your daughter, Grade 5 (11Yrs) for your son.
Enrolment for this time of the year would best be done by speaking with the Principal/Assistant Principle for the school(s) you are considering.
Most should be more than willing to give you a tour of the school and answer any questions you may have to help you decide.

You may also want to try asking around at another forum - http://www.tasmaniaforums.com/ - you should get some good answers there too, may also find a couple of members in the 'Norfolk region.

sorry about the late reply, was up Benlomen skiing all weekend...sooo much funn!

I work in public schools, and to be honest i think there is quite a difference from one public school to the next. It's defintely worth visiting more than one local public school before enrolling.

I'm no fan of private schools, just person prefference i guess. I just know quite a lot of people that come out of private and the ones that come out of public and public people seem to be more "normal" not very well explained but i seriously like public schools over private. my 2 cent worth
