Hi all, myself and my partner are both moving to Tasmania once our visas have been approved which should be in the next few weeks. Tasmania has really appealed to us. We are both in our 20's though...do you recommend Tasmania for young people and are there things to do?

Would appreciate your help and advice...

If you're already moving here, isn't it a bit late to ask if Tassie is recommended for young people? lol
There's always something to do - I guess it depends how proactive you are and what you actually like to do. If you want to look at a different art gallery every week for a year, you might be in the wrong place for example... but if you keep your eyes open and check out newspapers/local bulletins etc I'm sure you can keep yourself entertained Smile
Where are you moving from? Do you already have jobs?

If you like bush walks and camping there's heaps of options. But like Emsky said depends how proactive you are.

Join a club of some sort and you'll mean the whole of Tasmania fairly quickly.

mean? would rather they didnt anger the mobs, i think grant means meet.. would be much better.

There is plenty of sight seeing / tourist stuff for you to do, a lot of it can be done for next to nothing, so that should keep you occupied for a while.
Plenty of great night spots around, and its usually tame, so no problems if you are a night owl.

If you want to get out and meet some people, Join up with the Australia Poker Leauge, and take the time to attend some games down here, they are held at pubs / RSLs around the state, on a very regular basis.. good fun, free, and plenty of locals to chat to !!!
