Lan-dingites…

I have had a few people ask me when the next LAN-ding is being launched so I have finally pulled my finger out and started the processes (with Luke) to launch into the next one.. I contacted the library and not one Saturday is available this year… most Sunday’s are also booked out until the end of April!!! So if we want one soon, Luke has suggested that we might consider St Matthews Church in Rokeby. It has great facilities, security is not an issue, room enough for warhammer chaps and computer gamers to play in separate areas…

So what do you guys think about changing the venue for the next landing at the church? It might be further out then Eastlands but it is still close enough to facilities, eating venues and if negotiations with the church go well, we might be able to access the facility for free? Well, maybe, I might be a little presumptuous there… The event will still be a gold coin donation J… Let me know about what you think and well set the ball rolling

Look forward to your feedback

Cheers

gav

It's much further away as I'm out at Brighton, however saying that I'd still attend to support the lan.

I'd have no problem attending, but then I'm 5min or so away in Mornington.
How easy the place is to find may affect how many people that get dropped off/picked up will show.

Right, the right hand fork near Doughty Point Rd - just before I think. Hard to miss once you're on the right stretch of road.
Hmm, away from the main housing area, should allay some of jabroni's concerns
Activity centre looks new enough to not have any major issues with power.
Tea could be an interesting affair, send someone on a pizza run?

Also Van Dieman WarGaming, the wargaming club based at Rosny, can't have their next meeting in a fortnight as planned - already booked by others, so we may get a bigger than normal turn out if we play this right.
I could send some feelers into the forum those guys frequent if you'd like.

Gratz to chris for the "map" and for making it to college without being able to spell the word "matthew" ...

onto more pressing matters though, location puts me at least another 15 minutes out.. eek.
reckon i could make it.. but we are going to have to send out for pizza (and unfotuneately, despite having a car, im low on dosh (with the price of petrol etc).. so 1 2 3 not me !!!)

what are the facilities at the venue like? will we have kitchen access ? (what about internets... ?)

After which, a change of local couldn't hurt, and at a gold coin donation.. it is still the cheapest LAN in tas !!!

Great idea on the extra war hammer guys Flirkann.. go ahead and drop those feelers.

I'll do a run. As long as a few people order they should fit nicely on the back of the bike.

Usually means they aren't putting ANY effort into making their posts instantly readable on the first pass. Confused
This is a text driven medium, how you present your posts is how you represent yourself. Smile

I'll get right on it.

Would I be right in assuming that this will be next weekend if it gets the green light Question
Likely to be the usual time frame for start/stop Question

scares me even more Chris.. can't wait to see the login scripts.

(c'mon man, every forum needs a grammar Nazi.. might as well be me, wouldn't be so bad, but the actual spelling error is on the image.. Rolling Eyes , otherwise i would have edited it and been done.)

Not sure on the date Flirkann.. Gavin / Luke would be the ones to ask about that, and Luke doesn't seem to use the forums.. nor does Gavin. which makes event goer / organiser communication a bit of an effort.

All jokes taken into jest, perhaps we should sort out some details for a comp? Gavin seemed interested in running one at the Last event but it never really got off of its feet. i was thinking some sort of Death Match, which means one of the following games:

UT - GOTY / 4
Quake 3 / 4

Or, an RTS battle..
Generals: Zero Hour
Age of Empires - 2 or 3

otherwise we need at least 4 teams for a round robin.
Round #1 : 2-3 1-4
Round #2 : 1-2 4-3
Round #3 : 3-1 2-4
Top scoring team wins (this could be done in any game)
