well its only gonna be a prototype , if it works well run with it , oh and the sql, apache , php will be running on Fedora,
Clarkconnect will be giving out dhcp, winxphome will be giving out game servers and file sharing Maby,

*Updated* oh stuff it ill run Server 2003 Sad with Vmware to run Clarkconnect, is that better

Thought i'd add my 2cents worth....
Ok well my experience with linux and game servers in the past (4-5 years ago) wasn't so good.

Linux compared to a Windows 2000 server was an extra 20-30latancey for each player for the linux server!

Which was pretty bad.

After installing windows 2000 on the same box it went to around 20latancey flat for each player.

These stats were for "counter strike" server. That's what I experienced in the past anyways. Linux and CS servers I would of thought were better but they weren't running too well back then. hmm anyways

Update:
I know people aren't going to agree with the stats as everyone loves linux, but thats what happened and everything was setup correctly. If it was setup today well that may return different results as I know many game servers run linux now.

take a look at all of the battlefield 2 ranked servers online. they are almost ALL linux.
