On a majority rules basis, we cranked out some serious pwnage on CS 1.6 (8 vs 8) and everyone seemed to have a good time, midnight came upon us, and a few people left (they needed there sleep) and as the night turned to morning, Age 2 reared its head for some RTS action.

Chris had the server running nicely, with deds for CS:S and CS 1.6 stable all night (Gratz to you Chris) and hltstats keeping logs of the CS:S games (we are logging by user name so stats will be amended to next LAN, we are working on getting this setup on our web host, so we can update them for future viewing after each event), and shares for the latest files (though, slightly less obvious than preferred)

Ok ok... so i know the games are old hat, but it was a really great night, and counter-strike source was played, files were leeched, and plans were made.

and, Grant made a showing !!!, so, from a point of view of not having played on the night.. what was your general opinion of the venue / setup?

So, hopefully we can have even more people join us for OWL v 3.3 on Friday the 13th !!

Venue was great!, I was very impressed with the setup, nice clean warm building. I've been to a lot of lans and its been freezing cold down and down in a dungeon.

I don't know how well the lan ran, with server etc as I didn't bring a computer however from what I saw it looked organised.

If I had brought my laptop with me I would of sat down and joined in!!. I reckon I'll be definitely participating in the lan on the next event.

Well if tAK and muzi get their idea of the network cords sorted out it would be even better.

Yea, it went off without a hitch.

Got a bit of cash saved from the lannage, so some gear will be bought, power boards and such for each desk.
Just a quick heads up that we're trying an different time next LAN, 8pm-8am, we used to use that one a lot, so we'll give it another crack. 10am was kinda a bit much when you didn't get enough sleep. And after work/school, it can take a drain on players.

Most of the gaming didn't start till foods had been consumed, ppl rocked up, set-up and settled in, food was ordered, and a few friendly games were played before it rocked up and we dug in. Which brings me to my next point, Excellent job on the clean-up this time! Didn't take much at all, and there was less waste from foods and drink.

So to all, thanks, and the next one will be even better.

anyway im thinking of Giving a link to my server so you can all see your stats, it could be slow but it also might me resonable

next time we will have to use my server for Dhcp so it allocates it to be the default gateway so i can make all http requests go to the intranet where the stats, upcomeing lans, F.a.q and anything tak and mizu want to add to it will be.

Yeah, the church usually ends up with an issue or two when we hook them up to our own DHCP services.
would be great if you could get the server to run on the churches range (192.168.1.*)
Then there would be less issues.

But, in the the long run, having your server doing DHCP would be nicer, as we had a lot of name resolution issues (due to modems not being designed to take such loads)
