Kayaking....lol I tried to get into that, but it was looking to be a lot of money so I brought a blow up kayak instead. Bushing walking sounds interesting, I don't hear many people doing that much nowdays, is there a club or something your with for the bush walking or you just go on random walks in the bush around Tasmania?

oh and sorry, Welcome Nozza!

Hi Nozza (and welcome of course)

Yes, I'm interested in Bushwalking too. Please tell us all about it. Where is the best area to do it and where do I find a map with bushwalking tracks?
And what are the chances of getting lost in the bush if you walk alone Shocked

And, hows that for a welcome Nozza? feeling a little more self satisfied?

Sounds like you have a good time on the walks, keep up the photos. im not exactly in any sort of physical condition for doing such things myself.. do enjoy the views though.

50 km??? Shocked But you don't do that in 1 day, do you?
How long does it take to walk 50 km? 2 days?

I'm new here too, but finally decided to post when I saw this topic come up. My longest walk is 12 days, and it rained for 11 of them.

For anyone interested in bushwalking, I've actually just set up an internet forum especially for this purpose. Check it out:

Bushwalk Tasmania

I might post this elsewhere too, so people can find it easily.

That was the Western Arthurs and Eastern Arthurs (inc Federation Peak) from Scotts Peak Dam to Farmhouse Creak. We planned for 14 days, and allowed for 15 days in case of bad weather, but the bad weather just made us walk faster. Smile

It's the second time I've been up the top of Federation Peak, but both times, I saw no view... just up in the clouds!
G'day
