Hi i have just modded a Wii with a WiiKey heres few tips
1. Use wire to connect the 4 small and 2 large pins to the dvdrom Trying to get the solder to run down to the contacts just ends up in rippng pads off the dvdrom
2. get some wire and melt a !Small ammount! of solder on the end and hold it between the dvdrom and the wiikeys contacts heat it for about a second so the solder just jumps onto the wiikey and the dvdrom then trim the wire refer to this picture i got off some website, and please dont use as much solder as he did

Here is a better idea..

Go out and pay for the games !!
