I have just come back from a lan where it was not all Css, we played games such as Halo,Raven Shield,Call of Duty 2, and Postel2

The one that got me hooked was Raven Sheild one of tom clancys Counterterrorisim games
We Played Coop mode where 7 of us V a Horde of terrorists(AI) it was hard but very addictive 1 shot kills other than Css's 1/2 a darn clip kills
it maby took us 15-25 tryed to Complete a map , you normally have to either rescue the hostiges Exterminate the terrorists or both or more objectives like Recover Documents and such
the fact alone that you have to make a tactical plan or your just gonna get raped is great and makes the game addictive and i would agree to make this one a priority to play at v3.3
Ill try to get my hands on a dedicated server for this

Halo and CoD2 are excellent titles, and have reasonable requirements, I reckon they could be a real goer.
CoD2 was played at one of our LANs before, tight maps for the number of players, and arcade styled respawns. And Halo rocks in the same sense.

yeah, i long for the days when the wee hours of the morning where whiled away running each other over in halo Very Happy

ive been wanting a decent death match for a while, and CoD2 can provide that..

I remember going into the gaming centre that DCA comptuers used to run, and playing a raven shield styled game (rainbox six?) they are kinda similar, the co-op play is great, but the technicalities of it can be a real prick to get over..

so long as we are striking up a games list, my personal prefs are:
Counter Strike - 1.6
CoD2
Halo
UT GOTY / Quake 3 (for some one flag CTF or something similar.. CTF is a long forgotten format of game play)

im sure we will fill in the gaps with CS:S / 1.6 as the night goes on, but we have plenty of time to take them all for a crank.. just need to get people setup first..

i say we actually schedule and request that people play CS 1.6 to start off (so we can have decent numbers and compete against the guys that use the office machines), whilst 1 or 2 people at a time get setup for the other games.

thoughts?

hmm, it's been way too long since I played a session in the Arena, let's get some quake happening.
I'll have my discs there, I'm sure I've got some CD-RWs around somewhere that could hurry setting up

I also downloaded a copy of Alien Swarm - UT2K4 Mod - Anyone want to give some multiplayer (co-op) a go?

btw - been a while, but Raven Shield is either the sequel to or second expansion pack for Rainbow Six.
