Well, I'm new here, been looking for somewhere to do some Tassie LANning for a while now, and it looks like I've finally found somewhere to have some fun, and meet some new guys. Hopefully I'm welcome.

Shall I just pre-rego on the site?

Well, its just that Optical mice aren't too friendly with our table surfaces.

Fair enough. I've only got a 2m Cat5 cable at the moment, although I'm considering getting a 5m for the LAN. Should I?

I always recommend taking at least a 5metre one, if not a 10metre. Not sure how onewaylan have their setup, but some lans its hard to place the switch so its central. e.g. within 2metres.

a 2m would probably cut it at an OWL, but like Grant said, a 5m should be the minimum - especially if you start getting around the different LANs.
I've found my 5m was only just long enough at several larger LANs.

As for availability, may be a mute point - my northbridge fan died Sat night in the middle of a game and cooked the chip Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad
The rig has been resurrected, but may not have the video grunt in time to at least install at the lan Sad

Time will tell....

May as well buy a 5m then. They're only $7 or something at TasPC

Anyone gonna bring any TV shows or something like that for while we're in the break?
