Heya, spent my weekend with a lot of Lego.
My house was subject to much Lego building, with 5 ppl building with the stuff.

I have myself a DeathStar.
It has 3417 pieces and sits 65cmhigh (50cm in diameter)
It's a Collectors replica of the DeathStarII, the incomplete one that was in orbit of the forest moon of Endor when it was destroyed.
I had two mini-kits and this monstrosity to build, with a total working time of 13 hours. Including a break for din dins and coffee. I finished it at 5:15AM Sunday morning, and I was tired as all heck.

So here's a few photos during it's construction, and also of the rest of my models.

twas an insane day...

we should mention here folks, that we walked through the checkout at toyworld with approx $1055 worth of lego ....

the stack stood over a metre high, and most of that was the death star box.

ive been collecting the lego CITY series.. and have me a cop shop (i need the paddy wagon to finish this off), hospital (and all accessories.. this is a complete set) and a few other odds and ends, im targetting to finish the construction site soon, and the police station, before we go off on another big expedition to grab an Imperial star destroyer for mizu, and a death star for me (im not collecting the star wars series, but i want the big models for the sake of having something so huge made from lego)

ill post some pics of my stuff later, when i can be bothered taking them in the first place.

hehe, yea. And the guy behind the counter seemed so calm and couldn't care less about our splurge.

Can't wait for the ISD. Twill be a sweet day.

We wet out looking for the ISD originally, but it seems to be a rather rare item. One which I must have.

As for the ISD (Imperial Star Destroyer)
Built off the designs of the Imperial-I Class Star Destroyer

Would love to have a Venator-Class Star Destroyer though.

assuming you are talking about the death star...

he has it on display.. if you can pick this thing up, and "play" with it, then you are a bloody genius.

just trying to hold it by its outer shell near demolishes it, which explains why it was so easy to destroy in the movies.

Lol, true that.

I built it on the kitchen table, and it stayed there for over a week.
to move it, I have to remove a couple panels, and grasp the support braces inside.

of course, I clipped a wall whilst moving it, and the beam fell off, but that was easy to put back on.

It's very much a display item, and heck, it looks awesome.
Cause now it sits on my chest of drawers at the foot of my bed, and with the little bit of streetlight that leaks into the room, I can see right through the body of it.

Can't wait to get the Imperial Star Destroyer. C'mon tax return!

That and I'd have to re-build it. I think not. 13hrs is only going to happen once if I can help it.
