A MAN has been charged over the theft of a large quantity of explosives from Forestry Tasmania.[/b]


Police say the theft occurred over the weekend at a storage facility in Geeveston, 60km south of Hobart.

A quantity of explosives was found today at a house in Geeveston following a search, Tasmania Police Inspector Mark Mewis said.

A 25-year-old Geeveston man has been charged with two counts each of burglary and stealing, and one count of committing a nuisance.

He will appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court tomorrow.
